Stuffed Ground Meat Roll

Nowadays, these rolls are readily available at any butcher shop, but homemade ones are healthier and tastier.
It is a dish much appreciated by the whole family and perfect for any occasion.
If you prefer, you can use a mix of ground beef and pork.

Ingredients

• 800 g (1.76 lbs) of ground beef
• 100 g (3.5 oz) of chopped chorizo
• 100 g (3.5 oz) of chopped bacon
• 1 onion, finely chopped
• 2 cloves of garlic, minced
• 150 g (5.3 oz) of sliced ham
• 150 g (5.3 oz) of sliced Gouda cheese
• 1 egg
• Bread crumbs, as needed
• 2 bay leaves
• 250 ml (1 cup) of white wine
• 250 ml (1 cup) of natural beef broth
• Oregano
• 80 g (2.8 oz) of butter or margarine
• Salt, to taste
• White pepper, to taste
• Black pepper, to taste
• Nutmeg, to taste

   1. In a bowl, place the meat and season with salt, white pepper, black pepper, nutmeg, and oregano.
   Add the chorizo, bacon, garlic, onion, egg, and a bit of breadcrumbs.
   Mix everything well and add breadcrumbs until the meat no longer sticks to your hands.

   2. After mixing well, spread breadcrumbs on a sheet of aluminum foil.
   Spread the meat well over it so that it forms a rectangle.
   On top of the meat, lay out the ham slices and cheese slices.

   3. Roll the foil vertically so that it forms a roll and snug it well.
   If you wish, you can store it in the freezer or refrigerator.

   4. When ready to use, place the roll (without the aluminum foil) in a buttered oven tray.
   Add the margarine, bay leaves, beef broth, and white wine.

   5. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for 50 minutes.
   Once cooked, it's ready to serve.
   Serve the roll sliced and accompanied by Sautéed Tagliatelle with Spinach and Mushrooms.
