Sirloin Steak with Strawberry Sauce

Valentine's Day is the perfect occasion for a romantic meal that doesn't keep you too long in the kitchen.
This recipe is very easy, even for those with little cooking experience.
The combination of steak with strawberries might seem a bit unusual, but they actually pair very well, making a delicious dish that will leave your significant other speechless.
Side dishes can be varied, such as French fries, mashed potatoes with black truffle, boiled round green beans, sautéed asparagus, spinach purée, among others.
If fresh strawberries aren't available all year round, frozen ones can be used.

Ingredients:

• 2 sirloin beef steaks, about 180g (6.3 oz) each (Steaks)
• 1 tablespoon of butter (Steaks)
• 1 heaped teaspoon of Dijon mustard with seeds (Steaks)
• Freshly ground black pepper, to taste (Steaks)
• Salt, to taste (Steaks)
• 250 g (8.8 oz) of strawberries, hulled and sliced (Sauce)
• 1 tablespoon of butter (Sauce)
• 1 sweet onion, chopped (Sauce)
• 1 heaped tablespoon of brown sugar (Sauce)
• 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar (Sauce)
• 2 basil leaves (Sauce)
• Basil sprigs for garnish (Sauce)
• 3 medium potatoes, sliced (Roasted Potatoes)
• 1 tablespoon of olive oil (Roasted Potatoes)
• 1 teaspoon of dried thyme leaves (Roasted Potatoes)
• 2 cauliflower florets (Cauliflower)
• 1 level teaspoon of turmeric powder (Cauliflower)
• Lemon (Cauliflower)

Instructions:

1. Start with the potatoes.
   Season the potatoes with a little salt and thyme leaves. Drizzle with olive oil and mix.
2. Spread the potatoes on a baking tray.
   Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for 40 minutes.
3. Prepare the cauliflower.
   In a pot of boiling water, season with salt, a little lemon juice, and turmeric.
   Stir and add the cauliflower.
   Cover and cook for about 15 minutes.
4. Meanwhile, season the steaks on both sides with salt and pepper.
   Spread the mustard evenly on the steaks.
5. Make the sauce.
   In a frying pan, heat the butter.
   Add the onion, stir, and let it cook without browning.
   To the onion, add the strawberries and a pinch of salt.
   Stir and cook over low heat for about 10 minutes until the strawberries start to break down.
6. After the strawberries are cooked, add the sugar and basil leaves.
   Stir well and cook for 1 minute.
   After 1 minute, turn off the heat and mix in the balsamic vinegar.
7. Blend the sauce until creamy.
   Keep the sauce warm.
8. Once the cauliflower is cooked, remove it with a slotted spoon to a plate.
9. Finally, fry the steaks.
   In a frying pan, heat the butter well.
   Fry the steaks on both sides, 2 to 4 minutes per side, depending on your preference for rare, medium, or well-done.
10. After the potatoes are roasted and golden, remove them from the oven.
    Serve the steaks with the sauce, accompanied by the potatoes and cauliflower.
